Duo Wandermüd
Das Singer-Songwriter-Duo Wandermüd erzählt von der Romantik im digitalen Zeitalter. Genährt aus Jazz, Kunstlied und Avant-Pop erschaffen die Sängerin Winnie Brückner und die Cellistin Susanne Paul einen orchestralen Sound, um im nächsten Moment wieder ganz pur und kammermusikalisch zu klingen. Mit spielerisch eingesetzten Toys wie Eierharfe, Dosenbanjo oder Schlauchtrompete und einer Prise Dadaismus erweitern sie ihr Instrumentarium. Hinreißende Perlen des klassischen Liedguts fächern sie respektvoll auf, um sie frisch und gegenwärtig zu Gehör zu bringen. Mit kunstvoll eingesetzten Loops, Soundschleifen und Effekten verstärken sie die atmosphärische Dichte ihrer Musik. In ihren Songs singen sie Geschichten von Kaffeemaschinen und Fliegenphilosophie, von Gästen und Palästen und dem Ticken der Uhr.
The singer-songwriter duo Wandermüd gives romanticism an upgrade for the digital age. Rooted in jazz, German Lied tradition and experimental pop, singer Winnie Brückner and cellist Susanne Paul create swirling orchestral soundscapes and delicate moments of pure chamber music. They expand their musical arsenal playfully with musical toys such as an egg harp, a rubber banjo, washing machine tube trumpets and a dash of dadaism. Their arrangements of irresistible gems from the classical Lied songbook respectfully pair them with contemporary sounds and grooves. With artfully employed loops and sound effects they magnify the lush, haunting atmosphere of their tunes. Their songs sing stories of coffee machines, fly philosophy, the ticking clock, and invisible guests.

Winnie Brückner ist als Sängerin, Arrangeurin und Komponistin sowohl in der Klassik als auch in Jazz und Pop zuhause. Ihre Vielseitigkeit lebt sie in verschiedensten Projekten aus, sei es als Gründerin und musikalische Leiterin des international renommierten Vokalquartetts niniwe, Kopf der Barock-Crossover-Band VIND oder als Mitglied des auf mittelalterliche Musik spezialisierten Vokalensembles VOX NOSTRA. Kollaborationen mit dem Sinfonieorchester Aachen, Concerto Stella Matutina und den Kammermusik-Ensembles I SOLISTI und SPECTRA runden ihr Portfolio ab. Sie ist auf zahlreichen CD-Veröffentlichungen vertreten, etliche ihrer Arrangements für Chor sind beim Helbling Verlag erschienen.
Singer, arranger and composer Winnie Brückner is equally fluent in classical music and in jazz and pop. She lives out her versatility in a wide variety of projects, whether as founder and musical director of the internationally renowned vocal quartet niniwe, head of the baroque crossover band VIND, or as a member of the vocal ensemble VOX NOSTRA, which specializes in medieval music. Collaborations with the Aachen Symphony Orchestra, Concerto Stella Matutina and the chamber music ensembles I SOLISTI and SPECTRA round out her portfolio. She has released numerous CDs and many of her arrangements for choir have been published by Helbling Verlag.

Susanne Pauls musikalische Wurzeln liegen in Jazz, Klassik, Punk, Trash Pop und brasilianischer Musik. Ihr 5-saitiges Cello erfindet sie neu als vollwertiges Akkord-, Bass-, Melodie- und Rhythmusinstrument. In Südkalifornien und Norddeutschland in einer deutsch-mexikanischen Familie aufgewachsen, wurde ihr die musikalische Mehrsprachigkeit quasi in die Wiege gelegt. Sie spielt und komponiert in verschiedenen Bands, z.B. mit dem MOVE String Quartet, Twist, Etta Scollo, Uwe Kropinski Trio, Matthias Schriefls Geläut, Julia Hülsmann Oktett, und hat zahlreiche Noten und CDs veröffentlicht. Sie unterrichtet Jazzcello an der Bruckner-Uni Linz, an der UdK und im JIB Berlin, und ebenso in Masterclasses und Kursen.
Susanne Paul’s colorful musical style is rooted in jazz, classical music, punk, trash pop and brazilian music. She reinvents her 5-string cello as a veritable chord, bass, rhythm, and melody instrument. Growing up in Southern California and Northern Germany in a German-Mexican family, her polyglot musical curiosity grew naturally. She performs and composes with various bands, e.g. MOVE String Quartet, Twist, Etta Scollo, Uwe Kropinski Trio, Matthias Schriefls Geläut, Julia Hülsmann Oktett, and has published many CDs and compositions for strings. She teaches Jazz Cello at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz, Austria and at the UdK and JIB in Berlin, Germany, as well as in master classes and courses.
